The Mountain Traverse
Your story begins with a morning departure from your Fes Riad, heading south toward the Middle Atlas Mountains. You will first visit Ifrane, famous for its alpine architecture, before meeting the wild Barbary macaques in the cedar forests. After a scenic lunch in Midelt, the road winds through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the emerald Ziz River. As the mountains turn to red rock, you will enter the Dades Valley, stopping to marvel at the “Monkey Fingers” rock formations before checking into an excellent hotel nestled within the gorge.
The Limestone Cathedral
After an artisanal breakfast, you will journey to the Todra Gorges, where the river has carved a grand canyon with cliffs reaching 300 meters high. You will have time to wander through this natural cathedral before continuing through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. By late afternoon, the golden peaks of Merzouga appear. You will trade your vehicle for a private sunset camel trek, gliding into the dunes to witness the sky’s daily alchemy before a night of Berber music and gourmet dining in your Luxury Desert Camp.
The Nomadic Soul
Wake in the pre-dawn silence to witness a Saharan sunrise from a high dune—a meditative experience that resets the soul.
